If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I was in Exeter fairly recently. It was a trip for work so I didn’t get to spend much time exploring but I tried! When we first arrived, we had our first wander by the cathedral and the centre.
We were on the lookout for lunch and were lured into Boston Tea Party for a bite to eat. I didn’t have my camera with me but my oh my was it good. I had a sweetcorn hash and poached eggs with an iced coffee (made with avocados?!) and I was so sad when my plate was finally empty. Super tasty. I didn’t realise that Boston Tea Party was a chain so I’m definitely going to keep my eye open for another cafe when I’m next on my travels. I want to try some more of their menu!
On one of the evenings we headed to the restaurant next to our hotel. It was called The Cosy Club and it was utterly brilliant. That night, I ended up picking up a couple of tapas options that were packed full of flavour. Tapas is one of my fave foods and this definitely ranks up there with the good stuff. In fact, it was so good that we made our reservation then and there to come back for brunch.
This time I remembered my camera and I’m so glad that I did. This was the good stuff you guys. Rosti, bacon, avocado, eggs… What more do you want from your brunch? I was savouring every mouthful and wishing it was some kind of magic plate that would never empty. Actually, this one is also a chain so maybe I can get it a little closer to home than Exeter.
I had a great couple of days in Exeter and it was great to wander around when I got the chance. From the old Roman walls to the quay, I was constantly stumbling on some hidden gems. It’s definitely somewhere that I would love to go back to if I get the chance.
