Barry M is one of my favourite brands for nail varnish so its probably of little surprise that the new coconut infusion nail paints found their way into my basket on a recent trip to Superdrug. I started off with just the one shade, the lovely Skinny Dip which is a beautiful nude colour. I was so impressed with the formula and its staying power that I picked up the gorgeous pink Surfboard when I hit a revision slump. While its baby pinkness has divided my housemates, I am 110% feeling it and have been wearing it a lot.
The coconut infusion is supposed to be kinder to your nails and nourish them. My nails are pretty trashed right now from stress and this polish does seem to be helping them out. While there has been no life altering changes, they seem in a healthier condition after use than they do after some of my other polishes. Plus, the finish the polish offers is so smooth and glossy that I’ve been wearing little else. While I find that some of the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail polishes smudge really easily, the Coconut Infusion lasts really well, even when I’m really busy. It also takes less coats to deliver its colour than the Gelly polishes, which makes it a winner in my books.
In fact, I’m thinking of picking up a couple more shades the next time that I am in town. I’m tempted by Bikini and Flamingo, which is completely different from any nail polishes that I own. Its a coral kind of colour that I wouldn’t usually go for but that might just be perfect for summer!
