I feel like I’m perpetually on the hunt for new foundations/ tinted moisturisers/ concealers. I love the Liz Earle ones but they’re not the easiest to get the hold of. Plus, I go through the concealer so quickly that the cost adds up quite swiftly and my bank account gets angry at me. I tried a Superdrug offering but the colouring wasn’t quite right. I’ve just started using a new tinted moisturiser that I like right now but it is too early to declare it the one. I feel I should at least buy it dinner first.
Luckily, I think I’ve found an affordable option for foundation and it comes from none other than Barry M. Now, I love Barry M for nail varnish (and they’re cruelty free!) but I’d never tried any of their face products. The small selection of shades didn’t seem like they would be pale enough for me but I’m happy to report that I was wrong on that front! I’ve been using the Matte Finish Foundation for about a month now and it’s great. It has even coverage that doesn’t feel too heavy, a good colour and it lasts well. If I use the Flawless Brightening Primer before hand, this foundation is sticking around until I decide to take it off but even when I forget that step, which happens quite a lot, it’s lasting through the day.
I’ve been pairing it with the Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer, which might just be my new favourite thing. It’s coverage is just as good as the Liz Earle offering at half the price. Most days, I’ll just wear concealer so I need it to do the job and this certainly does. I’ve applied it with my (knock off) beauty blender, a brush and my fingers and it works brilliantly with all three. I get some pretty hefty dark circles so I’m pleased as punch with how well this covers them up – I almost look human!
While I can’t say that I will never use another product, or that I won’t pick up another Liz Earle concealer and foundation when I’m next at the counter, I’m going to keep reaching for these on the regular, safe in the knowledge that I can replenish them at my local Superdrug and there’s not a tide line in sight!
Have you tried these products? What did you think?
