THINGS TO EAT: Scran, Edinburgh

If you’ve been following along on social media, you’ll have noticed that I recently went across the border again for another trip to Edinburgh. This time, I went with friends and I had a brilliant couple of days exploring and sharing some of my favourite spots with them. We even found a few new food spots which I am going to share with you this weekend!

First up is Scran, which is just off the Royal Mile. If you like brunch, this is somewhere you need to check out. It had loads of sweet and savoury options, with each of them being perfectly instagrammable. In fact, the whole venue is. They really have leaned into their target audience with exposed brick, dark decor and plenty of avocadoes. I’m not complaining¬† – I love all of these things! It made it the perfect place for a nice brunch with friends.

But back to the food!

Firstly, my friend had the strawberry and chocolate waffles which looked absolutely divine. I was very jealous that I hadn’t chosen this one for myself. Next time, I’m in Edinburgh, I think I might have to try this for myself.

This time, I went for the Scran stack which was absolutely lush. It was a beast of a dish, combining all of my favourite things. It had avocado, poached eggs, hollandaise, hash browns, tattie scones, bacon and haggis! It might sound like a lot – and it was definitely filling – but it was such a brilliant combination that I made sure that I ate every last bit. This is definitely one for indecisive people (like me) who can never choose what they fancy to eat.

It was also available in a veggie option if that’s more your cu of tea!

Of course, we washed it all down with plenty of coffee which was also delicious. Between such a good flat white, a very extensive brunch menu and helpful staff, I definitely know I’ll be trying to find my way back to Scran soon.
