I love coffee. I make no secret of that. In fact, I even have an entire hashtag on Instagram, celebrating it ( #TNGdrinkscoffee if you are interested). And while I love a Costa as much as the next woman, I’ve been trying to use independent coffee shops where I can. Luckily, there are some cracking independent coffee shops in Darlington that I can support with my caffeine addiction.

I thought I would share my current top three with you all today, just in case you were looking for something similar! In the interest of fairness, I had the same  thing in each of them : a flat white.

1) Hatch.

I love Hatch, which is right in the town centre. It’s the sister venue to Hash (also fab) and is one of my go to places when I am in town. They also do a cracking cup of coffee if you need a pick me up while you are shopping.

2) Echo 3.
A little more tucked away, Echo 3 is every bit as wonderful. This Star Wars themed cafe does fantastic coffee and some lovely cakes. They also have some of the best customer service in town and are swiftly become one of my first ports of call when I am in the town centre.

3) Origins.
If you are in the Imperial Quarter and looking for coffee and cake, this is where you need to check out. Attached to a wonderful furniture and gift store on Grange Road, these guys always have a brilliant selection of cakes and do a great flat white.

Next time you are in Darlington , try one of these out for yourselves and let me know what you think!
