I love Taken Moons. It is run by my friend Rebecca and it is my go to place for picking up bookish candles. Some people might even argue that I have too many Taken Moons candles but those people would be wrong. That is not possible.
Recently, Rebecca decided to break into some thing new: a candle box. The first box would be called Dare to Be and would include both candles and some other fab literary goodies. The cost of the box also included a donation to the Rainbow Cards Project. I did not need any more convincing. I pre-ordered my box and eagerly (read impatiently) waited for the day when it would finally find its way to my doorstop. I was so excited!
That happened recently and guys, this was worth the wait. I’m already hoping that there is a second Taken moons box and soon. Before I get to ahead of myself though, I thought I would share the contents of this box with you all. If you are still waiting for your box or just don’t want to see any spoilers, look away now.
Inside, I could just make out the four candles and this lovely badge from Simons Nest. It’s a lovely design and has introduced me towards a new Etsy shop that I can already tell that I am going to love.
After that, it was time to take a look at the candles. We got four in the box and they were all lovely. They were inspired by books such as They Both Die At The End, The Miseducation of Cameron Post and When The Moon Was Ours. My favourite has to be We Are Not Broken Things however. This one smells like Botanical Gin and was inspired by The Gentleman’s Guide To Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee. I think I’m going to have to stock up on this one so that I can keep it burning all the time.
Underneath the candles was a bookmark from Literary Galaxy, which is another one of my favourite Etsy shops. This was inspired by Magnus and Alec from Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter series. I haven’t read those books in years but I do love this bookmark.
And one final look at the whole box:
