If you’ll let me fulfill a blogger cliche or two for a moment, can you believe that we’re already at the end of February?! That’s two months into 2017 and only 4 and a bit months until I’m leaving St Andrews. Still, let’s not dwell on my impending unemployment. Let’s chat about February!
It was a good month, though it got a little busy and stressful at times. I had an essay submission, some big work deadlines and found my diary filling up very quickly. I found my stride again school wise and settled into my classes. They’re a good bunch to go out on and super interesting. As I mentioned in this post, I also started a creative writing class and I am trying to make a bit more of a commitment to my writing. It’s early days, but it’s nice to be back in the habit of doing something creative. One day, I might even share some of it!
I had an interview that didn’t work out but had some other good news (that I should be able to share soon). I started to make plans for the months ahead, and think about the big move back to England. It’s exciting and scary all at once but I think I’m ready to leave this tiny seaside town.
Against all odds, I’ve kept up with some ‘for fun’ reading this month. I shared reviews for I, Robot and A Court of Mist and Fury. I also recently finished Illuminae, which I LOVED. I’m hoping to get a review up on it soon but in the meantime, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. I’m also currently reading CTRL, ALT, DELETE, which I’ve been meaning to start for absolutely ages. If you want to keep up with the books I’m currently reading, you can follow me on Instagram and Goodreads.
If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ll have noticed that I took a whirlwind trip to Newcastle, which was so much fun! I probably had slightly too much work to do to justify running away, but it was worth it. I’ll be sharing a little bit more about it soon but in the meantime, you can catch up on our adventures to Bristol here, which I finally got around to writing up this month.
How did February treat you?
