I have a thing for stripes.
I mean, that is probably a massive understatement but I’m not sure if I’m ready to admit that it’s an obsession. I already spoke a little bit about this in this post, but they’re my go-to piece to throw on. Classic, easy-to-wear… they’re practically perfect as far as I’m concerned.
Recently, I was feeling like my wardrobe needed a little TLC. I hit up a couple of online tall ranges and got a little spendy. 3-5 working days later, I had a few new pieces, many of which are actually cool enough that I don’t feel as if I’m bathing in a volcano as soon as I step outside. Among my order was this beautiful striped Bardot top from New Look.
Although the print is hardly outside of my comfort zone, the cut was and I was a little nervous about pulling off such a neckline. I’ve loved it on everyone else recently but that doesn’t always translate to liking it on me! Luckily, I love wearing it too and I have even picked up a couple more items with it. It seems like such an easy way to update your wardrobe and I’m sure I’m going to be getting a lot of wear out of this top.
On this occasion, I wore it to a few other things as I raced around running errands, going to lunch, seeing Suicide Squad and finally going to my friend’s 21st party. See what I mean about getting a lot of wear out of it!
And, for any fellow tall ladies out there, this actually does what it says on the tin and is plenty long enough in the body. It can be a bit hit and miss buying tall clothes online but I’m steadily learning what works for me. From go-to stores to which styles to avoid, I think I’m finally figuring out how to navigate style at 6″1. It only took me 21 years…In fact, in my recent online spending spree, I loved most of the things I bought and only sent a couple back for being a little ‘meh’.
This shirt was a definite success, and one I’m sure will be getting a lot of time off the hanger. I’m glad it could join its other striped siblings in my ever growing collection and I finally had an online shopping success!
