If you’ve been following This Northern Gal for a while, you’ll know that I am a long term cheerleader for Label, a body positive initiative here in St Andrews. I attended last year’s schedule of events (which you can read about here and here) and was wowed by their first fashion show. This year they’ve added even more things to their calendar, putting on arts festivals, theatre pieces and starting an online magazine, which I will be helping out with.
The launch party was another great event and the Label team did themselves proud. With cupcakes, goodie bags and signature cocktails, there was plenty to entertain guests. They also had a live music performance, with a song that had been written specifically for Label. It was beautiful, and I’m so glad I managed to stay around long enough to catch it! There was also plenty of chances to chat about body positivity and the changes we want to see within the beauty and style industries. Talking about things I care about and sipping on delicious cocktails? Winning combination.
Despite my best intentions, I didn’t really manage to get many photos of my outfit for the night, though I was slightly in love with it! I wore the striped bardot top from this post, my leather jacket and this gorgeous skirt from the Sprinkle of Glitter x Simply Be Collection. I actually bought it for my birthday celebrations and I’ve been desperate to wear it again! Not only is it stunning, it has pockets! Real, functional pockets!
I am so in love with it!
In fact, let’s just throw in a close up of just the skirt. Perfect for twirling, you guys. You can see my less than photogenic attempts to show it off in this video that I made of the night. It also gives you a sneak peak inside the beautiful Adamson cocktail bar, so you should check it out!
After such a great first event of the year, I’m super excited about what else Label have up their sleeves. Especially if there are more of those delicious cupcakes.
