After reading some amazing fiction books, I decided I needed a little breather from fiction. I wanted to keep reading but I did want to read something different. Luckily for me, one of my friends bought me this book for Christmas last year and I decided to pick it up.
This is non-fiction and is the story of 52 women who should have made the history books but didn’t quite manage to. These are women who, throughout different times and places, have changed the world in their own way. They’ve fought, argued, rallied, resisted, invented, created and ruled. These are amazing women who I loved getting to know amongst the pages of Bygone Badass Broads. I really enjoyed these fascinating stories.
What I really liked about this collection is that it is told in a really funny, almost light hearted way. This might be a non-fiction book but a dry history textbook it is not. This might me laugh out loud in places and I got truly emotional in others.
I loved dipping in and out of this book, reading 2-3 stories a night. If you’re interested in history but don’t want a really dense read, I would highly recommend that you do the same!
