January 2017

I don’t want to jinx anything but so far 2017 has been kind to me. January started out nice and slow, which was just what I needed after a manic end to 2016. On New Year’s Day, I headed for breakfast and then a dog walk, before curling up with a good book. It was a good way to kick things off.

Since then, things just got better.  I passed my numeracy test, literacy test and my dissertation, which was a big, big relief. I’m on the home straight with my degree at last. 4.1 was stressful but I’m hoping 4.2 will be a little nicer. If nothing else, I need to make sure I make the most of my last few months in St Andrews. I want to enjoy them, I really do. I’m taking some really fun classes this semester so I’m excited.

Before we came back to uni, I got the chance to head off on some fun adventures. I popped to London and spent 48 hours in Bristol, which I’ll be posting about soon. I’m really enjoying mini-trips at the moment, and hope to fit a couple more in this year.

January has also been a good book month for me. I’ve been making progress on my Goodreads challenge and working hard on my TBR list. If you want to learn a little bit more about that, I posted a video about my current TBR and one about my 2017 Reading Resolutions. I’ve got plenty of book reviews coming for you in the upcoming weeks because I’ve been reading some great books!

Though I’m trying to curb how much money I spent on eating out recently, I couldn’t resist trying the new restaurant in town. Since I posted this review, I’ve been back twice and still love it!

All in all though, I’ve loved January 2017 and hope its a good sign of what’s to come. How did it treat you?
